Notes
- This pattern is worked in continuous rounds
- Stitch totals are shown in [square] brackets at the end of each round

Materials
- Yarn in 3 colors + white for the bristles
- Matching size hook (I used 2.25 mm with DK yarn)
- Tapestry needle
- Keychain (optional)
Paint brush handle
In the handle color
Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2-13: 6 sc [6]
Rnd 14: BLO 6 inc [12]
Rnd 15: (1 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
Rnd 16: 18 sc [18]
Change to the second color
Rnd 17: (2 sc, dec, 3 sc, dec) repeat twice [14]
Rnd 18: 14 sc [14]
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Bristles
In white
Rnd 1: ch 6, starting in the second ch from the hook, 4 sc, 3 sc in the last ch, continue working on the other side: 3 sc, 2 sc in the last st [12]
Rnd 2-6: 12 sc [12]
To close the bristles, sc through both sides of the ellipse. Fasten off and tuck in the loose end.

Paint
In the paint’s color
Rnd 1: ch 5, starting in the second ch from the hook, 3 sc, 3 sc in the last st, continue working on the other side: 2 sc, 2 sc in the last st [10]
Rnd 2: (sc, ch 4, sc in the same st) twice, 2 sc, (sc, ch 4, sc in the same st), 4 sc, slst in the last st [12]
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing and tuck in the initial loose end.

Brush assembly
- Insert the bristles into the handle, so that the long tail from the handle is on one of the sides and the last row of the bristles is pointing down into the handle
- Use the long tail to sew the bristles into the handle
- Fasten off and tuck in the loose end
- Drape the paint over the side of the bristles and use the long tail to sew it on
- Attach the keychain if you like
